Governments vs The People
The news of a depraved act carried out against a ten year old girl at the CityWest hotel/IPAS centre in Dublin last weekend is both shocking and sickening and our sincerest thoughts must go out to the child.
Whilst the man responsible for this is nothing short of a sub-human stain, it is important the despicable actions of this one animal aren’t used as an excuse to target the many genuine refugees and asylum seekers, nor those who have come here to build a life for their families; the Irish are after all, one of the most migrated people in the world.
That being said, the understandable anger, fear and want for action is the inevitable outworkings of failed political systems, of which serious questions need answered. Most importantly how an innocent 10 year old girl, in the supposed care of the state, happened to be at this particular premises and why the state child and family agency Tusla have sought to defend themselves by cynically stating this child ‘absconded’ from their staff, as if to somehow blame her.
Questions must also be asked of the government policy which has enabled the cretin responsible for the attack to remain here in Ireland even after he was issued with a deportation notice earlier this year.
There is a deliberate underhand policy at play whereby large private companies and subsidiaries, aswell as vulture landlords, are raking in tens of millions from government contracts to house, transport and feed asylum seekers. Coincidentally many of these companies have links to major political parties, therefore it is in their best interest to keep these dysfunctional policies in place. This immense failure isn’t just on the 26 county government, but also the foreign british government illegally occupying 6 of our northern counties.
Public frustration, now boiling over, is the direct result of both these government’s failure to address the basic needs of the citizens currently living here. There is a homeless epidemic, our healthcare systems are failing rapidly, jobs and wages are stagnating and public spending on nonsensical projects is being authorised it seems by the roll of a dice, or the weight of an envelope. Our people have no clear direction from those who dare to stand on our doorsteps promising the moon and stars for a vote, yet are more interested in auctioning off our resources and country to the highest bidder.
In the occupied 6 counties we are shackled to Britain, in the 26 counties we are shackled to Europe. This purgatory of the rock and a hard place is being upheld by the gatekeepers in Leinster House and Stormont and until we all stand up, these parasites will continue to feed off the fear and mistrust. By falling into the manufactured divisions of religion, sectarianism and ethnicity, we the oppressed will never free ourselves from the shackles of the oppressor. We need to focus our anger at those who are creating these continued crisis, not those most affected by them.
