Israel GUILTY Of Genocide
The 32 County Sovereignty Movement were honoured to have endorsed an initiative by the International League of Peoples Struggles to hold a people's tribunal, holding the zionist entity of Israel to account for the ongoing genocide happening in Palestine.
The tribunal was held throughout the past weekend in Barcelona with delegations from around the world coming to a unanimous guilty verdict
The following is a statement released by the ILPS on the outcome of this monumental tribunal.
International People's Tribunal on Palestine
The Verdict is In: GUILTY!
Yesterday, the esteemed jurors of the Right to Resist: International People's Tribunal on Palestine unanimously found the Zionist entity of "Israel", the governments of the US, UK, Germany, France, and other complicit institutions and corporations guilty of the crimes of genocide and ecocide.
During two days of witness testimony, including survivors of genocide and ecocide in Gaza and the West Bank, the prosecution presented its evidence before the verdict was handed down.
The fight does not stop here, nor did it begin with the Tribunal. As lead prosecutor Jan Fermon stated in his closing remarks:
"The liberation of Palestine is the work of the Palestinians. The work of the rest of us is solidarity. Nazism was brought down by the resistance of the people of the world. The US intervention in Vietnam was ended by the struggle of the Vietnamese people and the solidarity of the people of the world. Apartheid was brought down by the struggle of the South African people and the solidarity of the people of the world.”
"With all these initiatives around the world of international solidarity, this Tribunal is part of this struggle for the right of the Palestinian people to the right of self-determination.”
Earlier today, organizers and attendees of the Tribunal took a copy of the full verdict produced by the jurors to the Zionist consulate and held a demonstration. Representatives of the Zionist occupation refused to attend the Tribunal and subsequently refused to receive a copy of the verdict. This proves the need for continued movement building and mass actions in the streets and in any venue possible if advocacy efforts will have any hope of contributing to justice and accountability. What the Tribunal proved is that true justice belongs with the people, and the people will fight for it until it is achieved.
Much more will be released soon on the verdict, full proceedings, and other materials to support the Palestinian people's fight for a free Palestine from the River to the Sea.
