Val Lynch Remembered

We remember today our great friend and comrade, Val Lynch, on the 5th anniversary of his passing. We further extend our heartfelt sympathies to Vals family at this time.

Val was a dedicated and principled republican whose commitment to the struggle was second to none. He, like many others, saw through the enemy’s agenda to copper-fasten and normalise British rule in Ireland, through the Good Friday surrender, and the attempted neutralising of the Republican Movement. Naturally Val stayed the course and met these roadblocks head on. He would not be found behind the wall when it came to calling out the shameful deeds of those he once considered comrades throughout his decades of service.

Val led from the front on many an issue and could always be counted upon to offer direction and words of support and wisdom to those who sought it. He was also very vocal when it came to POWs and went above and beyond to make sure their needs and the needs of their families were catered for.

Val Lynch was a stalwart of modern republicanism whose deeds and words should serve as an inspiration to all in the struggle for Irish sovereignty. We will remember him always.
