South Down 32CSM Easter Commemoration

This years 32CSM easter commemoration in South Down coincided with the anniversary of IRA Volunteer Colm 'Collie' Marks. Collie was targeted and shot down by members of the RUC in 1991 not far from where the Republican plot is today in Downpatrick.

A friend of Collies and other guests present today was saddened at the fact that padlocks had been locked on the gates of the remembrance plot and the national flag had been removed by the same lock keepers. It is a sad and shameful reflection on those who claim to be Republicans actively blocking people from commemorating our patriot dead, particularly at easter, an important date in the Republican calender.

Needless to say actual Republicans removed these locks and the commemoration went ahead with a wreath to Oglach Colm Marks and all those who have paid the ultimate price for pur freedom and sovereignty.

The national easter message was also read out as it was throughout the country.
